Hardly an illustrious lineup but it’s only a matter of time until Sony’s higher profile offerings also become available. I suspect it’s going to be restricted to older first-party titles during the early months, such as Killzone: Shadow Fall, Knack, inFamous: Second Son and The Order: 1886. Sony hasn’t named and specific titles just yet, or indeed nailed down a firm release date for PS4 streaming on PS Now. Naturally this puts quite a load on your net connection so you’re going to want to decent upload and download speeds (at least 5Mb) in order to prevent artifacting and/or buffering, along with a high/unlimited data cap.Īdditionally, PS Now uses cloud saves, meaning you can pick up where you left off on a different device, automatically syncing your progress. Pick one and you can begin playing immediately, with PS Now streaming the video to your PC or console, and sending your input commands back to the server. You pay a monthly subscription fee and can pick from a catalog of titles. If you’re unfamiliar with PlayStation Now, it operates much like a video streaming service such as Netflix. With the service upgrade, users will be able to stream and play a limited selection of PlayStation 4 games on PC, provided they have an active PS Now subscription. At this point however, PS3 games are looking a bit long in the tooth. 484 in fact, including the majority of the top console exclusives. In its current incarnation PS Now is restricted to an admittedly large library of PlayStation 3 games. Later this year, PC and PS4 users will be able to stream PS4 games directly to their devices. In the next logical step for the PlayStation Now streaming service, Sony is opening it up to PlayStation 4 games.
